CURRICULUM VITAE
David Maye
BIO
David Maye lives and works in Vancouver, Canada (located within the shared, unceded, ancestral territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh nations). He studied at the Emily Carr College of Art and Design in the mid 1980s and has exhibited locally.
STATEMENT
Working primarily digital, my painting practice is centred on ideas of personal emotion, process and visual aesthetic (partly inspired by memory) and my photography a study on place, time and isolation (often based solely on chance observation).
Part of my intent is to ultimately encourage the viewer to consider their own process of observation, interpretation, inquiry and emotional engagement.
